Getting Started with Prognosis
Learn how to create your account, complete onboarding, and navigate the platform for the first time.
Creating Your Account
Visit the Prognosis Website
Open Prognosis in your browser. You will land on the marketing homepage.
To create a new account, click Start planning for free in the center of the page. You can also click Sign In in the top-right corner of the page and then follow the link to sign up from there.
Sign-Up Options
Prognosis offers three ways to sign up:
Option A: Email and Password
Fill in the following fields:

| Password | A password with at least 8 characters. Depending on your organization's settings, you may also need to include an uppercase letter, a number, or a special character. |
| Repeat Password | Type the same password again to confirm it. |
If a Terms and Conditions checkbox appears, read and accept the terms before proceeding. Click Sign up with Email to submit.
Option B: Magic Link
If the magic link option is available, enter your Email Address and click Send Email Link. You will see a confirmation message: "Check your email, we just sent you a link." Open the email and click the link to continue. No password is needed with this method.
Option C: Google
Click the Google button to sign up using your Google account. You will be redirected to Google's sign-in page. After authorizing, you will be returned to Prognosis automatically.
Verify Your Email
If you signed up with email and password, Prognosis sends a verification email to the address you provided. Open the email and click the confirmation link.
Tip: If you do not see the email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. The email is sent from Prognosis and contains a one-time verification link.
Once verified, you will be redirected into the app to begin onboarding.
Completing Onboarding
After verifying your email (or signing up via Google or magic link), you will be directed to the onboarding page. The page heading reads Welcome to Prognosis with the subtext: "Let's get your account set up with some basic information."
Fill Out Your Profile
Complete the following fields:

| Phone Number | Your phone number in international format (e.g., +1 (555) 123-4567). This is entirely optional and simply makes it easier for the Prognosis team to reach you if needed. | No |
Click Continue to finish onboarding.
What Happens Behind the Scenes
When you click Continue, Prognosis automatically creates a workspace for your company using the name you entered. You are taken directly into that workspace -- no additional setup steps are required.
Your First Login
The Team Dashboard
After onboarding, you land on your team's dashboard. Since you have not set up any trials yet, you will see a prompt to get started. Use the navigation on the left side of the screen to explore the main areas of the app.
Key Areas to Notice
- Trials -- Where you create and manage your clinical trial forecasts. This is the core of the app.
- Depots -- Manage your global distribution network. Central depots (manufacturing and primary distribution locations) and local depots (regional distribution centers).
- Drug Substances -- Plan upstream material requirements. Define drug substances and their properties, link substances to drug products, and connect products to clinical trials.
- Team Settings -- Manage your workspace, invite colleagues, and configure billing.
- Your Profile -- Access your personal account settings from the dropdown in the top-right corner.
System Requirements
Prognosis is a web-based application that works in any modern browser:
- Recommended: Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (latest versions)
- Supported: Safari, Firefox
- Connection: Stable internet connection required
Creating Your First Trial
- Navigate to Trials from the sidebar or dashboard.
- The Trials page shows the heading "Manage and monitor your ongoing trials, scenarios, and forecasts."
- Click Create New Trial in the upper-right corner.
- Enter a name for your trial (e.g., "Phase 2 Oncology Study").
- Click Create to launch the configuration wizard.
You will be guided through an 8-step trial setup wizard covering countries and depots, recruitment dates, kits, label groups, treatment arms, cohorts, production constraints, and real-time recruitment data. Each step has its own page with clear instructions.
Tip: You do not have to complete all steps in one session. Your progress is saved automatically, and you can return to any incomplete step at any time. The dashboard will show a progress checklist indicating which steps are complete and which still need attention.
Inviting Team Members
To invite colleagues to your workspace:
- Go to your team's Settings page.
- Look for the Members or Invitations section.
- Send an invitation by email. Your colleague will receive a link to join.
When an invited user clicks the link, they will be prompted to sign up (if they do not have an account) or sign in (if they already do). After authenticating, they will see a page confirming that they have been invited to join your workspace. They simply click Accept to join.
Returning to Prognosis
When you return to Prognosis after your first session:
- Go to the Prognosis website and click Sign In.
- Enter your email and password, use a magic link, or sign in with Google.
- You will be taken directly to your most recently visited workspace.
If you belong to multiple workspaces, you can switch between them from the team selector.
Tip: If you have forgotten your password, click Forgot your password? on the sign-in page. Enter your email address and you will receive a link to set a new password.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
| Issue | What to Do |
|---|---|
| Verification email not received | Check your spam/junk folder. If still missing, try signing up again -- a new verification email will be sent. |
| Magic link expired | Return to the sign-in page and request a new magic link. Links expire after a limited time. |
| "You've already been invited" error | You may already have an account. Try signing in with the same email address instead of signing up. |
| Cannot create a trial | If you are on a free plan, you may have reached the trial limit. Check your plan details under Team Settings or contact your workspace administrator. |
