Shipments
Review the DNx cut-offs and the depot and site shipment settings a trial's forecast will use, then open Analytics.
Shipments is the last step of the Setup Wizard. It is a review screen: it shows the shelf-life cut-offs and shipment policies already in place for the trial, so a supply manager can confirm them before looking at the forecast. Nothing is entered here. Each card links to the screen where its values are actually set, and Continue opens Analytics.
Before you begin
What the step shows depends on your workspace:
| Workspace | What you see on the Shipments step |
|---|---|
| Premium workspace with the Site Resupply add-on | The DNx settings card, and the Shipment settings card with both Depot shipments and Site shipments |
| Premium workspace without the add-on | The Shipment settings card with Depot shipments only. There is no DNx settings card and no site shipments section |
| Freemium workspace | A single No additional shipment settings card. The step has nothing to review, and your existing trial settings still apply |
Note: DNx settings and site shipments require the Site Resupply add-on. Depot shipments require a premium workspace. In a freemium workspace these cards are absent, not disabled.
The values shown are read from the trial's kits, visit schedule, network and shipment screens. Set up your kits in Kits, your visit schedule in Treatment and your lead times in Country & depots first, so the cut-offs have something to be calculated from.
Review the DNx cut-offs
The DNx settings card lists the three cut-offs that end a kit's usable life before its expiry date. Each one is stated in days before expiry:
| Cut-off | Meaning | Default |
|---|---|---|
| DND — Do Not Dispense, at site | The kit can no longer be given to a patient | On-site administration: 3 days. Take-home: the longest interval from the earliest a dispensing visit can occur to the latest its following visit can occur |
| DNC — Do Not Count, at site | The kit no longer counts as available at the site, so resupply orders a replacement in time | DND plus the lead time to the site. The trial-level value uses the longest site lead time in the trial |
| DNS — Do Not Ship, at depot | The kit can no longer leave the depot, so it never arrives with too little life left | DNC plus 30 days |
The table has one row per kit type, with these columns:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Kit type | The kit's name and container |
| Administered | On site, Take-home, or Not set, from the kit's administration details in the Kits step, or from its container type when those are not answered |
| Shelf life | The kit's shelf life, in months |
| DND, DNC, DNS | The resolved cut-off, in days before expiry. Hover a value to see how it was worked out. A dash means the value could not be calculated |
Values on the default are marked Default; values someone has set are marked User input. The line under the table says how many kit types have their own values and which site lead time DNC and DNS are built on. If any country has its own DNC, or any depot its own DNS, an Overrides strip below the table lists them.
To change a cut-off, select DNx settings on the card. It opens the DNx Settings screen, the same one available from DNx Settings in the trial's left navigation.
Review the depot shipment policy
The Depot shipments section of the Shipment settings card covers central depot to regional depot shipments. It summarizes the replenishment policy the forecast uses:
- The policy in use, Static · Min/Max or Dynamic · Short/Long Window.
- How many depots and kit types the trial has.
- Whether everything is on auto (Every shipment is on auto, or Dynamic window policy is on auto) or custom values are in place (Custom settings in place). When custom values exist, chips name them, for example a shipping frequency, a long window, a maximum shipment size, or how many kit types and depots have their own settings.
An unconfigured trial is the normal case. Prognosis supplies defaults so the forecast can run without further input, and plans depot replenishment from demand, lead times, shelf life and the selected policy.
To change the policy, select Depot Shipments settings. It opens the Depot Shipments screen.
Review the site shipment settings
The Site shipments section covers depot to site shipments and requires the Site Resupply add-on. Each site is resupplied under a site strategy that sets its initial shipment quantity (Seed), its re-order point (Trigger plus the short window) and its order-up-to level (Resupply plus the long window).
The table lists every kit type against every strategy, with its Seed, Trigger and Resupply quantities. A value marked Set for this kit type has been set on that kit; a value marked Uses study default follows the strategy. The first three rows are shown; select Show all n rows to see the rest, and Show fewer to collapse them again.
Below the table, Resupply windows and quantity summarizes the remaining rules in chips: how the short window is built from the lead time, the long window and any kit types that override it, whether the resupply quantity covers the long window only or the short and long windows together, when the seed is shipped, whether kit types are topped up together, and which countries use their own short window.
Note: If no site strategies have been defined yet, this section says so instead of showing the table and the window chips. Until a strategy is saved in Site Strategies, the trial is forecast on the country-level supply model.
To change any of these values, select Site Shipments settings. It opens the Site Shipments screen.
Finish setup and open Analytics
- Review each card. If a value needs to change, open its screen from the card, make the change there, and return to the step.
- Hover the readiness dot in the footer to see Whole trial readiness. It lists any wizard step that still needs data, with a Fix button that takes you to it.
- Select Continue. Prognosis opens the trial's Analytics dashboard.
Note: The Shipments step has no required fields and saves nothing itself. Continuing from it does not complete steps that are still missing data.
You can also open the dashboard from any step with Analytics Dashboard in the footer, once the trial can show analytics.
